ENDANGERED HERITAGE | TYPOGRAPHIC CAMPAIGN
Endangered heritage is a typography-led campaign to help promote the neon culture in Hong Kong, aiming to preserve these compelling artifacts of urban streetscape and visual culture before they were lost.
WHY INSECTS?
Eating bugs is no longer a delusional idea. It benefits our health with high nutritious value that overrides common food, and helps save our planet. Insect farming requires less energy and greenhouse gases (cause of global warming) when compared to conventional livestock raising.
DIGITAL PLATFORM

WEBSITE
A website is designed specialising for this campaign. It introduces the neon culture in terms of distribution, visual communication and threats being faced by the neon culture in Hong Kong.
PHOTO SHARING PLATFORM
An interactive platform is created for visitors or citizens to capture and share their neon cultures, each picture will include a geotag to help shape the distribution map of neon signs in Hong Kong.
ABOUT

ANIMAL TERMINOLOGY
The home page features the four chosen neon signs. Information on the specific sign will be shown once clicked. Animal terminology are used to further personifies in the description of the signs, e.g. life span or cause of death.

The above illustrations demonstrate how the different type of neon signs exist in our urban development. Through understanding the visual language of neon signs, common typeface could be found, evidencing the important influence of Chinese typography in HK neon culture.
